A stitching update ...

My next class of 'Butterfly Garden' with Leanne Beasley is on this evening so here are some glimpses of my progress.

I'm up-to-date, actually a little ahead since we'll be going overseas for a few months.

I am enjoying it so much. I just have to a little better organized - to fit in more stitching time as I really need to be at least two months ahead!

P.S. You may think 'Butterfly Garden' is a misnomer ... where are the butterflies? I have decided to leave most of them off my quilt and focus on the flowers instead. We'll see how it turns out.

Autumnal days

Although it is officially winter it really only seems as if Autumn has arrived with its cool, foggy days. Up at the cottage it always comes earlier than in the city and we do enjoy our warm drinks by the fire. This photo was hard to resist with the lovely curling steam rising from our mugs of lemon and ginger tea.

The colours are vibrant and we gathered up these fallen leaves for spreading on the garden and composting, spending time talking with the owners of the house this beautiful liquid amber stands outside of.

I do enjoy slowing down a little during winter - hibernation has a certain appeal.
